Lúc này Alsou chịu trách nhiệm rất nặng nề, vì
chưa có một ca sĩ nào của nước Nga đạt được thành tích đáng kể tại cuộc thi này.
Alsou vừa tròn 16 tuổi, và như vậy cô trở thành một thí sinh trẻ tuổi nhất cuộc
thi trong lịch sử của “EUROVISION”. Một cô gái trẻ và gầy như vậy mà phải gánh
trên vai mình toàn bộ nước Nga, nhưng không hề thấy rùng mình, và xứng đáng làm
người đại diện cho nước Nga. Alsou trình bày bài "Solo" và nhận được tổng số 155
điểm, cảm thấy như điều không thể tưởng tượng nổi. Lần đầu tiên một ca sĩ từ
nước Nga đã giành giải nhì cuộc thi. Nhờ cuộc thi này mà Alsou đã nói cho thế giới biết
rằng, ở phương Tây cũng có những người hâm mộ cô.
